Work in an exciting industry, as unique as you, with outstanding brands like XXXX, Little Creatures and Four Pillars.We are searching for our next Tax Accountant to join our Group Tax Team in Sydney, reporting into our Senior Tax Manager. You will get to add value to the business by providing specialist advice and managing the Group's tax risks, helping to build a solid foundation for Lion's growth aspirations. You will have exposure to a broad range of tax, finance and legal stakeholders as well as external auditors, tax advisors and authorities, providing an extraordinary learning and growth opportunity for the successful candidate. The role is hybrid, which means you'll have the flexibility to work from the office and from home.A day in the lifeTimely and accurate preparation of our Australian and NZ income tax returns.Tax effect accounting for our Australian and NZ entities, including tax provision calculations, current and deferred tax accounting, tax reconciliations and reporting.Support the Australian and NZ businesses with tax payments and manage reconciliations to ATO/IRD business portals.General ledger review processes for Australia and NZ, analysing transaction data to determine the appropriate income tax treatment.Simplifying systems and processes to support continuous improvement.Keeping abreast of the latest income tax reforms.Support tax audits and reviews.Support the wider Tax Team with readiness and implementation of BEPS Pillar 2.Provide advisory support for the Australian and NZ businesses as required.What you'll bring2-4 years' postgraduate experience in a specialist field.Working knowledge of accounting concepts and Australian income tax (knowledge of NZ income tax would be an advantage).Skilled at utilising data to generate insights to influence decisions.Demonstrated ability in business partnering.Tertiary degree in a related field.CA/CPA qualified or studying towards.At Lion, we offer 'growth on tap' and you'll get hooked on reaching higher with each new challenge.
