About the Role As a Financial Accountant focused on indirect tax at Cover Genius, you will be working amongst a rapidly expanding finance team, part of Cover Genius' group finance team based in Amsterdam, Sydney, and New York.
This role will require you to be a knowledgeable and resourceful member of the Tax and Accounting team who supports and evolves the day-to-day, while working cross-functionally across the organisation as you support key financial processes that continually support and enable all areas of the business and its rapid growth.
We are looking for a driven, reliable, and self-starting person who works exceptionally well with others and wants to be part of a global insurtech company with the vision to protect all customers of the world's largest digital companies.
This role reports into the Director of Tax.
What will your day look like?
You will...Play an integral role in the global tax function, including preparing both direct and indirect tax returns, in conjunction with local expertsPerform month-end close activities such as tax entries and reviewsIdentify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and overall process improvement as we build and scale the global teamSupport financial statement audits with external auditors, which includes the preparation, maintenance, and oversight of audit-ready tax calculations and workpapersSupport in maintenance of the tax compliance calendars and work with the tax director and external tax advisors to maintain complianceSupport in transfer pricing, and various other global tax initiativesPartake in ad hoc accounting or finance projects and analyses.To help us level up, you'll ideally have:2+ years of tax accounting experience, Big Four experience preferredDegree in taxProfessional Certification (Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or equivalent), or working towardsThrives on collaboration and operates with a strong internal stakeholder mentalityStrong ability to quickly identify both risks and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on both process improvements and resultsAble to cope with a dynamic and high change environmentTakes ownership for responsibilities with a positive attitudeStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProactive self-starter, resourceful with a strong work ethicProficiency with Microsoft ExcelExperience with NetsuiteFluent in spoken and written English Cover Genius not only cares about being the best in our industry, we care about our team.
