APS6 - Procurement and Contracts Officer97,613 - $105,979 + SuperCanberra, Woden locationS26 transfer (Permanent or Temp or Non – Ongoing)Start Date: Either 12 December 2024 or January 2025About the roleThe Procurement and Contracts Officer is a subject matter expert and works under limited direction.
This position is responsible for managing and providing detailed and accurate technical advice on procurement policy, procurement processes, and contract management.
The successful applicant should have strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills as well as some understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.The APS 6 Procurement and Contracts Officer undertakes procurement activities for this agency and ensures compliance with all legislative and Government practices and guidelines relating to procurement.
The position may include higher duties with an opportunity for 2 positions.DutiesReview and draft procurement documents (spending proposals, RFQs, contracts, Value for money).Develop/maintain procurement reference materials.Handle procurement reporting (Senate Order, Annual Report, etc.
).Drive continuous improvement efforts for team support.Manage records in SAP Finance and Document Management.Enhance performance through risk management.Set clear expectations and foster goal achievements.P2P Data Entry for new procurements and contract variations.About youDemonstrated ability to manage procurement and contract management processes with the Commonwealth alongside knowledge of procurement rules, policies, and records management.Demonstrates skills and knowledge in using procurement systems such as SAP and AusTender.Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.Demonstrates the ability to prioritise deadlines individually or in a cohesive team to meet organisational objectives.Demonstrates strong verbal, written, judgement, analytical, organisational, and negotiation skills.Application RequirementsApplicants must hold Australian citizenship and an active baseline security clearance or ability to gain one.A current CV (maximum 3 pages) and a response to the responsibilities, clearly describing why you are the right person, what you can offer, and how your skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications are relevant to the role.
