Occupational Health & Safety (Human Resources & Recruitment)Campbelltown Catholic Club is a large social and recreational Club located in South West Sydney.
The Club provides an extensive range of business, social and recreational facilities including: multiple restaurants and bars, dedicated function and event spaces, Campbelltown Golf Course, Campbelltown Bowling Club, Aquafit Health Fitness Wellbeing, Rydges Hotel and The CUBE Convention & Entertainment Centre.We are currently seeking an experienced Work Health Safety & Human Resources Coordinator to join our team.
This role is set to commence in mid to late January 2025, providing an excellent opportunity to start the new year with an exciting challenge.The WHS/HR Coordinator is responsible for managing workplace health and safety initiatives while supporting essential HR functions to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.
This role focuses on creating and enforcing WHS policies, conducting risk assessments and leading safety initiatives to foster a culture of safety across the organisation.
Additionally, the Coordinator supports HR operations by maintaining employee records, managing staff uniforms and PPE, and assisting with return-to-work process for injured employees.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Create and enforce WHS policies to maintain a safe work environment.Lead safety initiatives and chair quarterly safety committee meetings.Manage the maintenance and ongoing development of the Club's Work Health and Safety Management System.Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, addressing hazards and implementing corrective actions promptly.Investigate workplace incidents, recommend corrective actions and maintain accurate WHS records to ensure compliance and prevent future occurrences.Organise safety drills and ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures, maintaining a high level of readiness for potential emergencies.Maintain a register and coordinate the delivery of mandatory compliance training.Coordinate with external agencies and oversee the return-to-work process for injured employees, ensuring they are supported and integrated back into the workforce smoothly.Maintain accurate employee records, assist with HR-related inquiries, and ensure proper coordination of staff uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.Provide additional administration support to the HR team as required.Lead and manage HR and WHS projects, such as safety improvements, new training initiatives, or system implementations.Keep up to date with changes in relevant Injury Management, Workers Compensation and Work Health and Safety legislation.What we are looking for:Previous experience in a similar role (within the Registered and Licensed Club or Hospitality Industries highly regarded).Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety.Be an accredited Return to Work Coordinator.Full NSW Drivers Licence.Have a sound understanding of WHS legislation.Experience facilitating internal committees and delivering internal training.An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality.Exceptional time management skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and liaise with a large number of stakeholders.Adaptable, solutions-focused with a genuine passion for workplace safety.Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.What we offer:Flexible work opportunities with the ability to have a say in your roster.Option to work from home.Enjoy perks like:- half-price meals while you're working.- half price gym membership.- access to our Reward and Recognition program offering both monetary and non-monetary incentives.- Employee Assistance Program.Be part of a small but close-knit HR team.Submit your application via Seek or email your cover letter and resume to:Human note that only successful applicants will be contacted.Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.#J-18808-Ljbffr
