De Goey Contractors are industry experts in fabrication, protective coating, process piping and concrete remediation, in all aspects of coal mining & terminal maintenance projects, port maintenance, manufacturing and labour hire.Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.
As the Estimator you will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive estimates & tenders for fabrication of structural steel and piping works, as well as resource/mining construction projects.
The Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting project planning and execution by providing detailed cost estimates and analysis.This permanent position is based at our Mackay Paget workshop.
Mackay local residents are encouraged to apply as there is no accommodation provided for this position.The desired experience we are seeking:To thrive in this position, you will possess the following:5-10 years relevant experience within the fabrication construction industryExperience within resource/mining or industrial environmentThe ability to read/interpret structural engineering drawingsExposure to working in a lively, adaptable, and fast-paced service-based organisationTake the necessary level of care & responsibility required to produce accurate material take-offs and complete detailed estimationsHave an understanding of the fabrication process & technicalities for accurate allocation of fabrication man-hoursCommercial awareness, supporting an organisation through growth and in a competitive industryMedium to high level input and computer skills are required for this role.
Previous AutoCAD experience would be desirableTo be successful in this role you will have a high attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
