About the opportunity
The Northern Sydney (Arbanoo) Precinct is one of three precincts within the Faculty of Medicine and Health.
The precinct brings together academic schools, disciplines, and professional staff in partnership with health, industry, and community partners, playing a vital role in the future of health and education in NSW.
The Senior Lecturer in Sleep Medicine (Education) - Designated makes significant contributions to teaching and learning and engages in educational leadership within their School/Faculty.
The Senior Lecturer (Education) dedicates the majority of their contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities (up to 70%), with up to 20% research and 10% governance, service, and engagement.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Undertake a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomes.
Engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education.
Design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements.
Design and deliver multi-disciplinary work-integrated learning units and content.
Engage in supervision of higher-degree research students.
Apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education.
Carry out administrative tasks primarily connected with the area of discipline.
Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty strategic agenda.
Engage beyond the University to develop a profile through conferences, seminars, and outreach activities.
Undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
Have a PhD in a relevant field.
Have an established research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the field of emerging technologies and education, and/or related fields of practice.
Have experience in teaching and learning, including demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives using emerging technologies.
Have a developing network of relationships with academic, consumer/advocacy, industry and/or professional organisations, partners and stakeholders.
Have experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities.
A developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
