Position: Senior Project Engineer – Rail
Start: Immediate
Location: Sydney
Duration: 2 days per week
Rate: $885 per day + Super
Our government client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to work with the construction and maintenance teams, providing planning, engineering and technical support on bridge infrastructure projects.
Key Accountabilities: Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to evaluate the principal, technological and systemic requirements to meet the SOW and functional specifications.
Work with Project Managers and Program Planners on the preliminary and detailed scoping, initial costing, and planning for the project.
Assist the Program/Project Manager in preparing the PMP and associated project documentation including safety plans, environmental plans, IWP, ITP and quality plans.
Assist the Program/Project Manager in the setup of project controls for cost and progress reporting.
Analyse drawings and associated design and project documentation for technical accuracy and suitability.
Participate in the evaluation of tenders with respect to established specifications, ensuring the technical merits of all tenders are carefully assessed.
Monitor and report project progress against the project plan.
Coordinate handover process for completed works to stakeholders.
Coordinate the management and close out of defects and ensure re-work is captured, measured and reported.
Essential Criteria: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Minimum 10 years civil experience.
Substantial experience in project delivery and/or engineering works, preferably in a rail environment.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders to achieve client satisfaction.
Substantial experience in providing engineering advice and support.
Demonstrated experience in project management support.
This contract will commence on 22nd Jan 2025 , and will run for 12-18 months with the potential to be extended.
