Live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.This roster will be 5/2 4/3 residential roster and a 9 hour day, must be residential in Cloncurry.About the roleThe Sustainability Manager will report directly to the Ernest Henry General Manager and be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective Health, Safety, Training and Environmental Management System to meet all statutory and operational requirements across these disciplines.
The role will also ensure an effective relationship is maintained and further developed with key community stakeholders to minimise any risks to our social licence to operate on our mining lease and leases within EHO control.Help to build a culture where sustainability is integrated in everything we do.Oversee and communicate safety and environmental performance to employees and stakeholders.Develop and implement operational training and improvement systems.Support strategic planning in collaboration with the General Manager.Lead risk management processes to foster a safety-focused and improvement-driven culture.Drive a focus on material risk and critical control management to deliver improved safety results.Promote the organization's profile to internal and external stakeholders.Build partnerships with key stakeholders to enable mutual benefit.Coach and develop the Sustainability team to meet their goals and accountabilities.Drive succession planning and leadership development within the team.Ensure compliance with all statutory safety, health, and environmental requirements.Coordinate effective incident investigations and injury management programs.Stay updated on legislative changes and ensure operational compliance.About youTo be successful in this role, we will require you to have the following qualifications and experience:Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, or Environmental Management, or extensive relevant experience.Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a medium to large organization.In-depth knowledge of QLD mining legislation and its application to health, safety, and environmental risk management.Inspire and create a clear vision and purpose for the team.Develop and drive strategic business initiatives.Lead innovation and manage change effectively.Strong commercial acumen with a focus on delivering operational success.Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.Promote collaboration across teams and departments.Demonstrate leadership presence and lead by example.Build organizational capability through coaching and mentoring.A results-driven mindset focused on achieving business goals.Ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.At Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
