We are looking for pilots who are ready to take on the challenge of serving in a dynamic and rewarding environment.About the roleThis FIFO Line Pilot role is based in Meekatharra, WA 6642 and is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA team, providing vital services to regional and remote communities on a 0.65FTE basis.What you'll be doingOperate fixed-wing aircraft to transport patients, staff and equipment to and from remote locationsEnsure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft in accordance with all relevant regulations, procedures and policiesProvide high-quality patient care and liaise with medical teams on boardPerform pre-flight and post-flight checks and documentationContribute to the continuous improvement of aviation operations and safetyWhat we're looking forCommercial Pilot Licence (CPL)Single Pilot and / or Aeromedical experience will be highly advantageousSignificant experience (minimum 1500 hours) flying fixed-wing aircraft in a variety of weather conditionsStrong safety focus and commitment to best practice aviation standardsExcellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with medical and operational staffResilience and the ability to work effectively in remote and challenging environmentsWhat we offerCompetitive remuneration and salary packaging optionsOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesAccess to our wellbeing program and employee assistance servicesOpportunities for career progression and leadership developmentAbout UsThe mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia.
Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA.
A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care.
