The Role Kent is currently seeking an outstanding, bubbly, friendly, and hands-on HR Officer on a Full-Time basis.
This position will be based at our Sydney Campus (CBD – Barrack Street).
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and liaises closely with the Finance Unit.
This role is responsible for providing administrative assistance and human resource support for Kent Institute Australia (Kent).
Assisting with providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on all Human Resource related issues, with a key focus on maximising engagement and retention across the Kent workforce.
Key Responsibilities: HR Strategy & Initiatives: Assist in developing and implementing HRM strategies that align with business objectives.
Support strategic planning to enhance workforce capabilities.
Employment Processes: Oversee on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for new and departing staff.
Schedule interviews, draft employment contracts, and streamline induction processes.
Handle termination processes, conduct exit interviews, and ensure documentation complies with organizational policies.
Personnel Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, ensuring all documentation is current and complies with organizational and legal standards.
Performance reviews: Set up and document performance reviews when due Award Compliance & Payroll: Monitor relevant awards (e.g., Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2020) to ensure staff receive appropriate pay and level increases.
Support payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory entitlements.
Workforce Planning: Implement and manage data for annual reviews and workforce planning updates, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Professional Development: Develop and maintain a Professional Development Calendar to upskill staff in soft skills and job-relevant knowledge, supporting organizational objectives.
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS): Assist in implementing WHS policies and procedures.
Coordinate training for first aid officers and fire wardens, ensuring certifications are up to date.
Staff Engagement & Well-Being: Facilitate internal communications, mediate conflict resolution, and promote staff well-being through in-house initiatives.
Compliance & Legislation: Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act (2009), National Employment Standards, and relevant awards.
Stay updated on HR trends and legislative changes to ensure organizational adherence.
Qualifications & Experience: A degree in HRM or a related field with at least 3 years of HR support experience.
Demonstrated success in implementing strategic HR projects or initiatives.
Desirable Skills: Experience with payroll processing, including statutory entitlements.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
Familiarity with international education environments and regulatory requirements.
General office management, including petty cash replenishment and cash handling.
Skills & Competencies: Expertise in interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
Strong management, strategic planning, and goal-setting abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high emotional intelligence.
Proficient in MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Understanding of current HR trends and upcoming legislative changes.
Personal Attributes: Ability to liaise effectively with culturally diverse staff and stakeholders at all levels.
Energetic and team-oriented with a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Strong adherence to Kent policies, procedures, and local statutory regulations.
