Organisation Profile Frontier Services is Australia's oldest bush charity working nationally with people in remote areas of Australia.
Through Bush Chaplaincy and our Outback Links volunteer program, we provide practical, pastoral and spiritual care to people doing it tough in isolated areas including First Nations, farming and mining communities.
Frontier Services is an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia.
The Uniting Church is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia.
Purpose Reporting to the Operations and Programs Manager, the purpose of this role is to effectively coordinate, deliver, and grow our Outback Links Volunteer Programs across remote Australia with a focus on Group trips.
This involves engaging with property owners and community groups in need of practical support, and leading teams of volunteers- including registered volunteers and corporate and community partners- to deliver practical support.
Working within the Outback Links team, the overall aim is to engage communities, develop strong relationships, and empower them to build their capabilities and resilience to lead healthy and fulfilled lives.

Frontier Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Outback Links team as a Volunteer Programs Coordinator.
Key Areas of Responsibility include: Identify needs and opportunities in rural and remote communities and properties that can benefit from volunteer support.Develop volunteer programs based on these needs and the availability of volunteers.Develop relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of community-focused volunteer programs.Oversee the effective delivery of volunteer programs on the ground.Manage risks and ensure the safety and well-being of support recipients, volunteers, and partner organisations.Attract new volunteers and expand the range of community-focused volunteer programs.Maintain program administration, program budgets and reporting.
Support our communications team in telling the stories of our work.Key Measures of Success include: Strong and growing relationships with communities and individuals in rural and remote AustraliaWell-managed, respectful, productive relationships with Bush Chaplains and corporate and NFP partner organisationsSuccessful implementation of community-focused volunteer programsGrowth in Volunteer programs through increases in; New Farmer Registrations, Active volunteers in database, Number of volunteer projects completed, Number of Volunteer hours completedPositive promotion of Frontier Services to external audiencesEffective use of limited resources including Bush Chaplains and head office team to implement successful programsKey Stakeholders Relationships Internal: Frontier Services staff and Bush ChaplainsFrontier Services community contacts living in rural and remote AustraliaCommunity, Corporate and Not-For-Profit (NFP) partnersPosition Specific Skills and Experience Experience in rural and remote Australia, understanding the issues and challenges for local communitiesExperience in volunteer program management and partnership buildingPeople leadership experience, including demonstrable management of effective teamsDemonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects at onceConsultative manner and a commitment to a team-based approach, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a close-knit teamA capacity to use contemporary communication technologiesDemonstrated strategic thinkingWillingness and ability to travel to remote AustraliaA current Driver's LicenseA National Police Check and a valid NSW Working With Children Check, and the ability to gain the equivalent within all States of AustraliaA valid First Aid Certificate or the willingness to obtain one.A willingness to work within the ethos and values of Frontier Services and the Uniting ChurchFamiliarity with/understanding of the social, environmental, political and spiritual landscape, including the challenges and opportunities of regional and remote AustraliaQualifications in a relevant disciplinePREPARED BY: Operations and Programs Manager
