The PBL position is a school allocated position and provides the school with additional resources to improve whole school approaches to supporting student Behaviour and Staff Wellbeing within the school community.Job detailsPosition status: Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type: Full-timeOccupational group: Education & TrainingClassification: Stream 1/CoachWorkplace Location: Western Suburbs State Special SchoolJob ad reference: QLD/MSR605736/24Closing date: 10-Dec-2024Yearly salary: $127689Job duration: ASAP to 27/06/2025 unless otherwise determinedWestern Suburbs State Special School seeks to provide an educational environment which will support students in gaining the necessary skills and confidence to engage happily in the community.ResponsibilitiesYou will have responsibility for the following:Provide teacher professional development and resources to support them to deliver weekly PBL lessonsDevelop individualised strategies to improve student performanceCollaborate with HODS and Sector Leaders to share information and strategies for successPeople and PedagogySupport staff, students and parents by encouraging development of a positive and inclusive learning environment within and beyond the classroomBuild productive relationships with parents and engage them to support student learningBuild capacity of teachers to promote an understanding of PBL/wellbeingEngage in collegial observations and feedbackVisit classes on a formal and informal basisFormulate proactive plans for student performance in consultation with stakeholdersInvestigate high level behaviour incidentsCollaborate with DP complex case studentsData and ReportingIdentify and analyse PBL data to inform support required, strategic planning, student case management and referrals.Communication of insights and information from data analysis to Tier 1 PBL Meeting.Support and implement PBL ideals and respond to PBL data.Assist transition of students by facilitating composition of classes for following yearMinimum RequirementsApplicants for these positions must possess:A relevant teaching qualification.Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.How to applyPlease note: If you are a Permanent Teacher with the Department of Education, you must have your current Principal's endorsement to apply for this position.Click the Green 'Apply online' button belowAttach your current CV including contact details of two professional referees (one of whom is your current supervisor) and a maximum 2 page written response outlining your suitability for the role under "How You Will Be Assessed"Pre-service teachers are encouraged to include completed practicum reports, mentor/referee statements, unofficial academic transcript for current course of study**Applicants are encouraged to commence and submit their application as early as possible as the Department of Education reserves the right to reduce the application period and/or remove the job advertisement early should a suitable applicant be found.**Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Suitable Applications will remain on file for 12 months and may be considered for other teaching vacancies in any school location.
