The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
This role provides advanced nursing assessments, diagnosis, care and intervention to patients within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner and requires adherence to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) standards and guidelines, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery and patient safety.
As a clinical expert, the Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Provides advanced clinical assessment/reasoning skills and autonomous care to patients in accordance with Nurse Practitioner legislation and within individual scope of practiceInterpret results, and initiate appropriate treatment or referrals as neededMonitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessaryWork effectively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and streamline care processesParticipate in case reviews and team meetings to discuss patient care strategiesLiaise with other healthcare providers, specialists, and community resources to ensure comprehensive care deliveryEngage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and policiesParticipate in the evaluation and enhancement of practice standards in line with AHPRA guidelinesMaintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with legal and organisational requirementsMaintain competence to practice in accordance with national competency standards for the Nurse Practitioner as directed by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA).Qualifications Current unrestricted AHPRA registrationCompletion of a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) qualificationMinimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting as a Registered NurseMinimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting as a Nurse PractitionerStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesKey Competencies Knowledge of AHPRA standards and regulationsAbility to work autonomously and as part of a teamStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsCommitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvementExperience with the accreditation process and quality improvement requirementsAn understanding or experience of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Standards for general practicesIf you have the skills and experience we are looking for, we will be in contact shortly.
