Senior Tax Consultant – Melbourne
Forvis Mazars' Tax Consulting team has an opportunity for a Senior Tax Consultant like you.

Want the opportunity to provide real advice to real clients and be recognised and rewarded for what you can do.Have a desire to apply your skills to complex businesses, providing compliance and advisory services to multinational businesses.Share a passion for research and are skilled in understanding and distilling legislation.Care for our clients' most delicate matters, from mergers and acquisitions to tax structuring and succession planning.Enjoy working alongside Business Advisory and Financial Advisory Services teams.Are keen to progress to increasing levels of seniority and receive training and promotions you deserve.Believe that a great culture is built on the celebration of collective success.About the job:As part of the Tax Consulting team, in this role your focus will be on providing outstanding tax compliance and advisory services to our growing portfolio of international corporate clients as well as assisting with providing specialist tax advice for privately-owned businesses and high wealth family groups.
You will be a key contributor to our fast-growing business and will help to build our future as well as your own career.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with advisory engagements including tax due diligence, structuring, tax consolidation and thin capitalisation.Undertaking tax research, analysing and interpreting tax legislation.Drafting advice for clients in relation to various Australian taxation issues.Corporate income tax returns and associated compliance obligations including International Dealings Schedules.Specialised compliance obligations including Country-by-Country Reporting.Communication with Clients and regulatory bodies.About you:Ideally have a minimum of 2-4 years' experience in a tax role with an Australian accounting firm.
Candidates with either generalist corporate tax experience or experience in a specialist role (e.g.
transfer pricing) are encouraged to apply.
We also welcome candidates with Business Services experience who have a passion for tax and are looking to move into a technical tax role.Completed a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Law degree (or equivalent).Completion of the Chartered Accountants Program (or CPA) is preferred.Good working experience with Excel, Word, Outlook.Ability to work with others.Confidence in dealing with clients and technical issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.Willingness to learn.Why join us:For those who appreciate culture as much as commercial success, Forvis Mazars is the smart choice.
