Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island; operating 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides mental health recovery, support and rehabilitation programs to consumers of the Mental Health Service requiring intensive support.
The Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team has an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist - Senior to join their team on a fixed term temporary part-time basis, working 36 hours per fortnight, for 12 months.

About the opportunity: Position: Occupational Therapist - Senior
Vacancy: Fixed term temporary part-time, 36 hours per fortnight, 12 months
Location: Kirwan Health Campus, Townsville
The Occupational Therapist Senior will provide direct Occupational Therapy services, including assessment, planning and treatment, for people involved in the Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team within a multidisciplinary environment, in accordance with professional standards and legislation consistent with the 10 year Mental Health Strategy for Queensland and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.

Requirements: The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy.
Registration with the Occupational Therapist Board Australia (AHPRA) is required.
Possession of class C drivers' licence.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis vaccinations are required.
Probation period may apply.
Pre-employment checks will be conducted including Criminal History Clearance.
