The role In this role, you'll lead planning efforts across the Hunter and Northern regions of New South Wales, guiding land use and development proposals to create vibrant, sustainable places.
You'll be the main point of contact for councils, communities, and stakeholders, driving collaboration to address complex planning issues and support the state's growth objectives.
Ensuring the integration of land use with infrastructure will be a key focus.
A significant challenge will be managing diverse stakeholder interests while delivering high-quality advice in a time-sensitive environment.
You'll need to navigate political and media pressures, resolve emerging issues, and set clear priorities to ensure that your team meets its goals efficiently.
You'll also be responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team who are geographically dispersed across the State, whilst ensuring a consistent culture of collaboration and delivery.
What you will bring to the role In-depth knowledge and experience working with applicable legislation and regulations Significant experience at managing change and large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives.
Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
Capability to drive outcomes while effectively involving diverse stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
What is an essential requirement: Tertiary qualification in urban planning, architecture or a related discipline.
Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in a complex working environment.
