Disability Support Worker - Carrum DownsDescriptionAre you a dedicated and caring individual, passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with disability?
We are seeking Disability Support Workers in Carrum Downs, Victoria, to support a lady in her 60's living with an ABI (following a stroke), dementia, diabetes, hypertension, and who has full dependency on her electric wheelchair.
She and her family are looking for confident support workers who can plan ahead and develop capacity-building and goal-oriented community access activities.
Shifts are available from Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 10.30am to 2.30pm.
Minimum RequirementsYou must have or be able to obtain:
Proven or lived experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role.Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, or a related field.Manual handling training.Knowledge of disability support principles, policies, and practices.Worker Orientation Module.New Worker NDIS Induction Module.Supporting Effective Communication.Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals.First Aid and CPR certification.NDIS Worker Screening Check.Police Check.Working with Children's Check.You must also possess:
Effective communication skills with individuals with disabilities and their families.Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent problem-solving skills.Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with disability and meet the requirements outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
