In this role, you will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pump stations and treatment plants. This will include:Development of mechanical designsPreparation of engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications for projects from concept design through to detailed designProviding support and training to our junior engineers that will be assisting you in these tasksReviewing detailed mechanical calculations, drawings, and documents, including interfacing with other disciplinesContributing to multidisciplinary teams delivering major water and wastewater treatment projectsAssisting with business development and developing strong relationships with key clientsOur Water Infrastructure Section works on long-term framework agreements with major clients based in Melbourne, including Melbourne Water, Yarra Valley Water, and Greater Western Water, and collaborates with important regional clients such as Goulburn Valley Water and Central Highlands Water, among others. We regularly collaborate with our teams nationally and work with interstate clients, including Sydney Water, Queensland Urban Utilities, Water Corporation WA, and SA Water.As well as exposing you to challenging projects and career development opportunities, we offer competitive remuneration packages and multiple staff benefits such as paid parental and partner leave, purchase leave, and mental health and wellbeing programs, to name a few. Here at Jacobs, we positively support a plethora of flexible working practices such as flexible start/end times, job share arrangements, working from home, and part-time arrangements.Here's What You'll NeedOur strong pipeline of work means that we require candidates that have the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a closely allied disciplineChartered status from relevant engineering body, including Professional Engineer Registration in VictoriaMinimum of 10 years' experience in the water and wastewater industry (post-graduation)Extensive experience in performing mechanical engineering design from the concept design phase through to detailed design on a variety of water plants and systems, including working on multidisciplinary projectsExperience in the preparation of tender documentation, tender reviews, and recommendationsPreferably experience in plant commissioning, plant upgrades, operation and maintenance, and decommissioningExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clientsExcellent leadership skills, and experience leading engineering teamsExperience in mentoring and developing junior Mechanical EngineersJacobs.
