Role Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Precontracts Manager to join our team.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking to transition from a site-based role to contribute strategically within our Precontracts Division.
The successful candidate will manage the precontracts phase of projects in various disciplines, including bulk earthworks, bridges, and mine infrastructure, ensuring that all proposals, tenders, and contracts are prepared accurately and in accordance with our organisational standards.
Responsibilities will also include peer review and estimating.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals in response to client requests, specifically for bulk earthworks, bridges, and mine infrastructure projects.Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to gather and assess project requirements.Conduct thorough risk assessments and analysis of contract terms to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.Oversee the estimating process, ensuring that cost estimates are accurate and reflect the project scope across various disciplines.Facilitate peer reviews of tenders and proposals to ensure quality and consistency in submissions.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors throughout the precontract phase.Provide guidance and support to junior team members in the tender preparation and estimating processes.Monitor and report on precontract activities and progress to senior management.Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction or engineering sectors, with a strong understanding of precontracts processes and specific experience in bulk earthworks, bridges, and mine infrastructure.Previous experience with estimating and tendering.Familiarity with contract law, procurement processes, and estimating methodologies.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.Proficient in using tender management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Why Join Us?At Pentacon, we offer a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth and development.
