VEGETATION CONTROL OFFICER - 12 Months Fixed Term Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC), a leading Government Owned Corporation (GOC), manages four key port precincts: Port of Gladstone, Port of Rockhampton, Port of Bundaberg, and Port of Maryborough.

About the Role We are seeking a skilled and qualified Vegetation Control Officer for a 12 month fixed term position.
This position is responsible for managing weed control and maintaining vegetation across GPC Parklands and operational sites.
The role contributes to the upkeep of parklands, enhancing both the community's enjoyment and GPC's public image.
Key Responsibilities: Vegetation and weed control in accordance with GPC's Pest Management Plan.Parkland and site maintenance.Operating various machinery, such as tractors and mowers.Performing tasks such as slashing, mowing, and basic equipment maintenance.Adhering to GPC's safety management protocols and relevant Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) standards.GPC offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by maintaining Gladstone's beautiful and accessible parklands.

About You Our ideal candidate will hold an ACDC licence from Biosecurity Queensland.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift chemical containers, handle spray hoses, and wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Proficiency in operating equipment such as tractors, mowers, and spray units, along with strong collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, is essential.
Commitment to GPC's Health, Safety, and Environment management systems and Code of Conduct is expected.
