Opportunity working a shift day/night rotating roster About The Role
The Site Control Officer role is operationally business critical for the provision of security, emergency response, maritime security & business resilience and is responsible for the day-to-day management and control of access to all areas which come under the control of Rio Tinto Alcan Yarwun.
First response in the areas of emergency medical, ERT call out and security issues.
The Officer Site Control reports to the Team Leader Site Control.

Key aspects of the role include:
The first point of contact for all on-site security events Patrolling, assessing, reporting and resolution of security issues that impact or have the potential to impact RT Yarwun.
The first point of contact for all on-site emergencies and responsible for coordinating a response accordingly Managing all after hours drug and alcohol testing & Medical response in the absence of the Occupational Health Centre staff Ensuring all Maritime security requirements are met and issues are resolved in accordance with these legal requirements The use and monitoring of surveillance systems Educating and advising visitors to site, of the importance of safety of themselves and others around them What you'll bring
Experience with emergency response is preferable Passion for excellence High level of integrity and ethical behaviour Provide value to customers through quality and efficiency Ability to work in a team environment Accountability for your own work performance Excellent written and verbal skills Sound knowledge of computer systems Sound ability in CCTV systems Ability to follow document management procedures and principles To be successful considered for this role, you must have:
Certification in Occupational First Aid or Provide Advanced First Aid MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card) card holder (preferable) Class 1 Security Licence (preferable) Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite C Class Australian Drivers License (Manual) About Rio Tinto

Where you'll be working
Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004.
Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.
As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.

With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24 hour operation.

Yarwun is a proud member of the Gladstone community, and along with Boyne Smelters Limited and Queensland Alumina Limited, support community investments that improve the liveability of the Gladstone region through the Here for Gladstone community fund.
