Research Officer, Queensland Police Service The Research and Intelligence portfolio is a newly established team in the Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command (DFV&VP Command).
As strategic leaders in the QPS, the DFV&VP Command holds responsibility for ensuring community safety by guiding a whole-of-service response to DFV&VP.

The Research and Intelligence team supports the work of the Command by building and promoting evidence-based approaches and practices, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and leading innovation and continuous improvement.
The scope of research and intelligence work under the DFV&VP Command includes DFV, Mental Health, Police Referrals, White Ribbon, DFV High Risk Teams, Disabilities, and Elder Abuse.
DFV&VP Command is a family-friendly environment embracing work-life balance and remote capability, where possible.
The Core Capability Requirements for this role are:
Undertake research into external and internal issues affecting the QPS, specifically in relation to High Risk offenders in a DFV environment.
Assist with the provision of well-researched, soundly based and defensible advice to senior management on issues relating to DFV.
Assist in the evaluation of QPS programs and initiatives and consult with other areas of the Service on evaluation practices, methods and approaches.
Monitor and review policing practices, strategies and initiatives at state, national and international levels and assist in the reporting on their efficiency, effectiveness and applicability to the QPS.
Liaise internally and externally and represent the QPS as required.
