Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public WorksResilient Homes Fund; Disaster Resilience Program; Public Works; Cannon Hill, BrisbaneYou will engage, consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to lead program-wide investigation and responses to ministerial correspondence, complaints and appeals, as well as providing high level advice to executive managers.Please note that this role requires a combination of office-based and remote work. Occasional travel for training or stakeholder engagement may be required.Your role within the Resilient Homes Fund (RHF), Disaster Resilience Program (DRP) will support the department to respond to disaster events that occurred across 2021 and 2022. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.What you will be doing:• Exercising leadership, judgement and authority to effectively manage complex enquiries, appeals and complaints, ensuring timely, professional and accurate responses in line with DHPW Complaints Management Policy and Procedure and pertinent legislation.• Liaising with key areas of the department to ensure timely resolution of issues.• Leading the RHF's response to Right to Information and external review requests such as from the Queensland Ombudsman Office.• Undertaking special projects (using an appropriate project management methodology) of a complex, sensitive, and contentious nature as directed by the Manager, PMO.• Undertaking various research or analytical tasks relating to the operations of the RHF.• Remaining abreast of emerging issues impacting on the RHF and providing advice to the General Manager and other executives on appropriate courses of action.• Managing the preparation, review, and finalisation of executive documents on behalf of the General Manager, including RHF Appeals Committee papers, Program Board Papers, correspondence, submissions and briefing notes.• Representing the RHF at various internal and external forums and committees as required.• Ensuring compliance with information management and recordkeeping requirements.• Managing and supporting the development and learning of your direct reports, fostering a workplace culture that promotes equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.• Representing the RHF in liaising with critical stakeholders, such as the Minister's office, Queensland Ombudsman, Office of the Information Commissioner Queensland or the Queensland Human Rights Commission, as well as managing referrals and collaborating with DHPW Legal Services and Integrity Services Unit on complaints or issues from stakeholders.What we are looking forWe are looking to find the person best suited for the role and will be considering your knowledge, skills, experience, potential for development and future contribution to the department as well as your personal qualities and how they contribute to our department's equity and diversity objectives which aim to build a workforce that reflects the Queensland community.The skills you will need include being able to:• Demonstrated strong coordination, engagement and stakeholder management capabilities, able to work as part of a diverse team that delivers effective program management within a dynamic landscape.• Demonstrated capacity to manage complex matters and projects within competing priorities and timeframes.• Exceptional verbal and written communication that results in the production of clear, concise and accurate advice targeted to internal and external stakeholders.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
