General Practitioner, Part-time/Sessional, QLD - Gladstone GP wanted for headspace Gladstoneheadspace GPs play an important role in supporting the mental, physical and sexual health of young people aged 12–25. Having GPs onsite at headspace centres provides a safe, low-stigma entry point for young people who may be reluctant to seek help for mental health concerns.
GPs work with young people around mental health, sexual health, drugs and alcohol, preventative healthcare and other physical health problems and are part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced youth healthcare experts.
At headspace, GPs have the opportunity to: Make a real difference in young people's lives by working as part of an innovative team.Provide holistic care across a wide range of physical, mental and sexual health issues.Be part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team.Develop confidence and specialist skills working with young people.Receive free accredited online training courses.Other benefits include: Focus on evidence-based practice – from assessment to appropriate prescribing.Potential access to a range of supports such as supervision and professional development.Modern fully computerised facilities with full reception support.Access to mentoring, a GP Community of Practice and secondary consultation sessions with psychiatrists.Flexible & after-hours positions available.You will need: Passion for engaging and building rapport with young people.Experience in supporting young people with mild to moderate mental health challenges, developing mental health treatment plans, and treating physical and sexual health concerns relevant to this age group.To hold all relevant licenses, registrations and memberships for legal practice as a qualified and registered Practitioner within the state of Queensland.Be able to obtain a Medicare Provider Number.Be willing to bulk bill.To express your interest please call the Centre Manager on (07) 4903 1*** or email ******
