Reporting to:GM, Finance and Investments.
The role: This role is the tip of the spear in energy transition, bringing together all of Akaysha's pillars to ensure successful storage projects reach financial close.
It's an opportunity to operate in a strategic finance capacity, supporting capital allocation and financial management of the business and its global investments.
The position comes with significant autonomy and license to originate and execute investment opportunities in a dynamic, innovative, and exciting sector alongside exposure to projects in different regions such as US, Australia and Japan.
Key responsibilities will include: Investment case development of energy technology and renewables assets, including financial modelling and transaction executionPreparation of financial modelling and analysis, returns analysis, preparation of investment committee papersWorking with equity partners and debt financiers to optimise capital structures and investment outcomes.
This includes running equity and debt processes, and managing external advisors as requiredManage due diligence advisors throughout the development of portfolio assetsSupporting the investigation of emerging asset classes including but not limited to renewable fuels and green hydrogen, carbon sequestrationSupport the Director of Finance & Investments in preparing reporting for the Akaysha board on portfolio and project economics, investment outcomes, operating business budgetingSupport the development, analysis and implementation of portfolio level product and equity strategies alongside the Director of StrategyWorking with the COO on business and capital reporting across the projects and businessWorking with Management Team and other key team members in the development of new energy products and contracting strategies, including portfolio optimisationSupporting commercial negotiations of project documents including supply contracts, EPC contracts, offtake agreements, finance documents etc alongside legal and finance teamsWhat you'll bring: Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Engineering preferred8+ years' experience in a similar or related role in investment banking, funds management, private equity or corporate financeExpert proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointTechnical understanding of renewables models (revenue, capex, opex, tax and finance drivers)Experience working on energy, renewables or utility-scale energy storage system preferredProven ability to write investment papers and communicate analysis effectively via presentation.Possess excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work with a small, fast-paced team and make critical decisions quicklyWillingness to learn, adapt and develop in a fast-paced sector #J-18808-Ljbffr
