Job Description
Carmel School is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Manager to join their leadership team.
The Business Manager plays a crucial role in managing the school's financial, operational and administrative functions, ensuring efficient use of resources to support the school's educational aims.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the school's financial and non-financial operations, overseeing areas including finance, IT, HR, facilities, legal, canteen and uniform shop Work closely with the Principal and senior management team to provide strategic leadership Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the School's mission Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and providing financial analysis to support decision-making Conduct financial analysis to support decision making, including financial modelling, scenario analysis and sensitivity testing Enhance Board and management financial reporting with dashboards, balance scorecards and graphical analysis to identify trends and draw out key insights Produce timely and accurate Financial Reporting Coordinate risk management strategies, legal matters, and external audit activities Oversee human resources, including payroll, recruitment, performance management and staff development for the non-teaching team Management of IT through an external provider Oversee the management of school facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant legislation Ensure smooth operation of the school's canteen, uniform shop and other key services Lead key projects and initiatives related to operational improvements The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have:
Proven experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for various corporate functions Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, financial planning and analysis Strong strategic planning abilities Strong leadership, management and communication skills In-depth knowledge of human resources management, legal compliance and risk management Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including staff, the Board, external partners and parents A commitment to the values of Carmel School What's on Offer
