Human Resources Administration Officer

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Human Resources team sits within Council's Corporate Performance Directorate and is responsible for a diverse range of services across Cumberland, supporting people leaders across the employee lifecycle.
This includes advice on team structures, recruitment, employee and industrial relations, and learning and development, as well as contributing to key organisation initiatives and HR projects.
The team were the recipients of the 2022 Employment Diversity – Metro Award at the Minister's Awards for Women in Local Government and received an Honourable Mention at the 2023 National Awards for Local Government for our Mentoring and Development Program, and proudly deliver internal services which educate, inspire and build the capability of our leaders and staff.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Human Resources professional to join our team in providing comprehensive HR services to the organisation.
Reporting to the Coordinator Human Resources, this role will work closely in partnership with the HR team and stakeholders to assist in the delivery of end to end recruitment services, maintain Council's HRIS systems, coordinate probation process and to facilitate and assist in various other HR related tasks.
The successful applicant will require: Relevant qualifications in an administrative or human resources field and/or equivalent experience Computer literacy, particularly in the MS Office suite of products Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals Good time management skils Ability to maintain confidentiality.

About this role: Permanent, full-time position 70 hour fortnight Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement Located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,460.14 to $1,679.17 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role.
