Electronics Design Engineer

This role will see you working in a modern, well-appointed factory on the Gold Coast producing a range of flight simulator components such as multifunction displays, simulated avionics units, interface boards, switch panels, communications panels, and flight controls for key customers such as the US Air Force and US Navy as well as other notable clients all around the world.
Largely, this role will involve working with Arduino IDE, writing code for microcontrollers and integrating sensors, actuators, LCD, LED, and other peripherals.
It will involve circuit design and testing as well as debugging electronic circuits for embedded systems and production of hardware prototypes prior to going into full production.
It would be desirable for our candidate to have experience in high-level organic surface modelling skills in order to design and manufacture our flight control grips (joysticks and helicopter collective grips) on our in-house EOS110 SLS 3D printer.
Skills in plastics / composites / injection molding etc.
would also be desirable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design:
Designing and building products from beginning to end Part modelling and assemblies with moving mechanical parts in Solidworks Development of engineering drawings Designing for 3D printing Developing designs that allow for the integration of off-the-shelf parts (such as electronics, switches, panels etc.)
as well as other parts we manufacture Surface Modeling Specialist with SolidWorks or Solid Edge expertise responsible for creating intricate, freeform surfaces, ensuring smooth transitions and flawless curvature.
Manufacture:
Production of engineering drawings and circuit diagrams for manufacture use PCB integration and assembly Operation of in-house 3D printer Operation of in-house laser cutter and engraver Assembly of components as required Quality Assurance and Testing:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Design or a related field.
Industry experience is also very important Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field Strong skills in electronics and mechatronics Extensive experience with Arduino IDE, writing code for microcontrollers, and integrating sensors, actuators, LCD, LED and other peripherals Circuit Design and Testing: Designing, testing and debugging electronic circuits for embedded systems, using simulation tools and practical hardware prototyping Component-Level Soldering: Proficient in hand soldering both Through-Hole (TH) and Surface-Mount Device (SMD) components, including fine-pitch ICs and delicate PCBs Electronic Fault Finding: Strong diagnostic skills for locating faults in analogue and digital circuits, with the ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting to ensure system functionality Prototyping and hands-on assembly: Building functional prototypes, assembling PCBs and making modifications during design iterations Documentation and Analysis: Documenting design processes, analysing test results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards Skills in electronic software such as Altium Designer, Fusion360 circuit extension, Diptrace, or Eagle High level of surface modelling skills and ability to create organic-shaped models (such as joysticks and other flight controls) and allow for integration of buttons and switches is desirable #J-18808-Ljbffr
