Job Description Role starts late February 2025 2 x 12 month options to extend Canberra based Our Federal Government client seeks an experienced NV1 cleared Cyber Security Assessor for an initial 12 month term.
To be successful you will possess current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating information technology (IT) security assessment, monitoring, detection, and remediation tools and procedures utilising standards-based concepts and capabilities.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Developing security compliance processes and assessing effectiveness of security controls. Performing security reviews and identifying gaps in security architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion in the risk management strategy. Participating in Risk Governance processes to provide security risk, mitigations and input on other technical risk. Verifying that application software / network / system security postures are implemented as stated, documenting deviations and recommending required corrections. The successful candidate will possess broad knowledge in: Cyber security and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage and transmission of information or data. Cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Critical Information systems with information communication technology that were designed without security considerations. It is expected that the Cyber Security Assessor will possess skills in:
Performing risk assessments and review of systems. Technical writing, including developing and editing assessment products. Interpreting vulnerability scanner results to identify vulnerabilities. Interfacing with customers. Preparing and presenting briefings. Role Particulars Submission deadline: 6 / 12
Duration: Late February 2025 for 12 months
Extension/s: 2 x 12 month options to extend
Eligibility: Australian Citizenship and active NV1 Clearance
Location: Canberra, A.C.T Working arrangements: Onsite preferred, potential working from home by negotiation.
