This role is part of the St Vincent's Lismore 40+ catering team and reports directly to our Catering Manager.
In this role you will provide kitchen hand services and relief cook support as required.
Excellent customer service, teamwork, quality care, and food safety are all essential in this role, with your everyday tasks including:
Working as part of a positive, well-oiled team to prepare and serve high quality food to patients, residents, and employees across the St Vincent's campusMaintaining excellent food safety standards in all aspects of food preparation, storage, and deliveryCleaning work benches, cool rooms and equipment in line with all relevant safety guidelines, and reporting defects, maintenance, and safety issues as they ariseWe have 2 x permanent part-time positions available on a rotating roster for a Kitchen Hand and Cook, based at our St Vincent's Lismore campus. no split with SVL), increasing your overall take home paySalary increases and holiday leave loading in line with our Enterprise AgreementAccess to free counselling/coaching sessions with AccessEAPDiscounted gym membership through Fitness PassportAccess to free Flu vaccinations each yearDiscounted private health insurance through our Corporate Health PlanStaff discount on St Vincent's Lismore hospital admissionsSubsidised mealsFree onsite staff parkingCorporate kitchen uniform providedOngoing formal and informal performance feedbackMinimum Requirements: Great time management skills, including being able to get to work on time and meet all food prep, cleaning and delivery schedules for a large commercial kitchen.Excellent people skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of patients, residents, caregivers and staff;Knowledge of food safety principles or willingness to learn;Previous hospitality experience desired, but not essential;Previous experience in a commercial cooking setting with a formal qualification relevant to the hospitality field highly regarded.Able to undertake labour intensive and physically demanding cleaning and lifting duties within the kitchen and catering space.Flexible and available to work all shifts on a rotating roster.About us Established in 1921, St Vincent's Lismore leads the way in providing high-quality healthcare, aged care and childcare for the people of our community.
