Established in 1974 by activists of the women's movement, YANA was the first refuge for women in Victoria. For 50 years, we have been at the forefront of providing safe accommodation, advocacy, and support for victim-survivors of family violence, with a particular focus on those from communities with the least resources.Our services include:Short-term crisis accommodationSecondary consultationsCase managementAdvocacyAt YANA, we're proud of our feminist roots, and we remain committed to addressing the gendered nature of family violence and supporting equitable access to safety and security for all victim-survivors.About the RoleWe're looking for a passionate and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead YANA through its next chapter of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will drive the implementation of our strategic vision, ensuring YANA continues to deliver high-quality, holistic services while staying true to our feminist mission and values.As CEO, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team, foster a collaborative and inclusive organisational culture, and advocate for systemic change to prioritise the safety and recovery of victim-survivors. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by ensuring YANA remains a values-driven, sustainable organisation that continues to support the fight against family violence.What You'll BringWe're seeking a Feminist leader with a commitment to Respect and Collaboration, and a demonstrated commitment to social justice. To thrive in this role, you will have:A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, or a related field.5+ years' experience in a senior leadership role within the not-for-profit sector.Expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams, with experience in family violence-focused supervision and staff support.A deep understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, and the ability to integrate feminist analysis into service delivery and advocacy.Strong skills in change management, quality improvement, and strategic leadership.Financial management expertise to ensure organisational sustainability.Proven ability to establish collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including marginalised communities, service providers, and decision-makers.A commitment to self-care, reflective practice, and fostering resilience within teams.Why Join UsAt YANA, we offer more than just a leadership position – we provide the opportunity to be part of an organisation with a proud history and a strong commitment to driving meaningful change.
