What you'll be doing The purpose of the position is to provide a high quality service to the patients being treated by South West Sydney Hand Centre in a supervised position.
To receive experience and training suitable for a future Hand Surgical Specialist.
The Unaccredited Trainee is expected to undertake advanced level training in a sub-specialty area of Plastic surgery and Orthopaedic surgery, under the supervision of specialist hand surgeons and develop complex clinical skills to become clinically proficient prior to independent practice.
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or legal entitlement to work in Australia.
Overseas applicants are welcome.
Previous Plastic Surgical or Orthopaedic experience essential.
Some previous Hand Surgical experience.
Ability to participate in afterhours and on call rosters as required.
Demonstrated progress towards career goals in hands/plastic surgery.
Demonstrated team work, time management and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
