Senior Mechanical Engineer

Due to our sustained growth, we are currently offering an exciting opportunity for skilled Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our dynamic and collaborative team in Brisbane.
As a member of our team, you'll be able to work on a variety of dynamic and complex projects.

Key Role Requirements: Complete engineering design and analysis work across diverse projects, ranging from front-end engineering to detailed design, analysis, and fitness for service assessments.Develop, review, and approve engineering documentation and deliverables such as technical drawings and specifications, datasheets, reports, scopes of work, and material requisitions.Manage engineering, design, and drafting activities, including reviewing drawings and providing instructions to the drafting team as well as junior engineers.Manage all parts of the mechanical and piping engineering on specific projects.Apply mechanical design and analysis to existing equipment to solve client issues and advise clients on operation and integrity limits, including fitness for service assessments.Interface with other engineering disciplines to meet project objectives.Ability to work across all project phases from concept through to detailed design, execution, and operation.Occasional short site visits to suit project requirements.About You: If you're a self-motivated, results-driven individual passionate about delivering high-quality mechanical engineering designs and services, with a developed technical design background and demonstrate the following skills, we want to hear from you.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, recognised in Australia.Well-developed experience delivering piping and mechanical equipment designs through all project phases, from concept to detailed design, in heavy industries such as energy, chemicals, hydrocarbon processing, mining, and minerals processing.Experience engineering skills, including detailed design and/or analysis of piping systems (pipe stress analysis), pressure equipment, pressure vessels, and tanks.Knowledgeable about design codes as well as Australian and International standards.Experience or familiarity with fitness for service assessment, inspection, and integrity management.Familiarity with sizing and selection methods for rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, and motors.Experience managing workload across multiple projects and dealing with multiple stakeholders.Basic experience using design and drafting software such as AutoPipe, Caesar II, Nozzle Pro, PVElite, Strand 7, Nastran, AutoCAD, and Inventor, plus a willingness to learn these is encouraged.Experience developing detailed design by rules calculations and use of the first principles engineering approach.RPEQ or working towards.Ability to work effectively within a team.About Sedgman Prudentia: Prudentia Engineering was established in 2014 to deliver multi-discipline engineering services across all phases of projects from research and development, piloting, option selection or optimisation studies, feasibility studies, front end engineering and detailed design, project implementation, operational readiness and commissioning support.
