As we prepare for the launch of our first campus in Victoria, we're seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Academic Coordinator to lead the Victorian academic team in helping our students achieve their academic goals.
As the Academic Coordinator, you will lead and grow a team of secondary teachers, initiate growth projects and This role is based full time at our Box Hill campus.
What you'll do… Overall management of the Victorian academic unit staff from recruitment, onboarding, deployment and performance management.
Determining the final form of any curriculum proposals, courses or events, and seeing through to execution and delivery.
Management of academic timetable to open and operate classes to meet demand, classroom efficiencies and growth and enrolment targets.
Conduct academic consultations with parents and students to offer advice and solutions for the student's learning needs and academic goals to facilitate enrolment conversions.
Weekly classroom teaching at the Matrix Box Hill campus (up to 9 hours per week).
Deliver regular reporting items as required to the operations team, the CEO and the Board of Matrix Education.
Overseeing classroom efficiencies and reporting – managing student/classroom ratios and retention strategies to ensure a smooth transition for students and teachers, term on term.
Management of budgets and other resources within the area of responsibility, including the management of work to teachers, tutors and development of resource development teams.
Represent, build relationships and uphold the reputation of Matrix Education within the local community, schools, universities and educational bodies through the formulation and execution of growth and outreach opportunities.
What you'll need… A minimum Bachelor degree qualification in Education, Teaching, Arts or a related discipline, Minimum of three years experience teaching a secondary subject (from English, Mathematics or Science) in a classroom setting, Demonstrated experience in management of educational course design and staff, Thorough understanding of student learning styles and effective methods of lesson delivery, Knowledge of best practice in engaging secondary students, Good knowledge of the current Victorian curriculum for year 7 to 12 in English, Mathematics and Science learning areas.
