A little about the role
Supporting the State Director, the Assistant Director will develop, lead, and promote the fostering service within the State, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with the organisational strategic plan.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Key Assets SA leaders in leading, developing, and providing leadership to the Key Assets SA teams in line with the organisation's vision, mission and values.
Act as a coach, mentor and advisor to senior staff, driving leadership development, performance improvement, and professional growth within the agency.
Take a lead in promoting a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture, encouraging open communication and engagement across all levels of the organisation.
Represent Key Assets at external forums, and meetings, including Department for Child Protection and Family Support, and Disability Services Commission planning meetings.
Assistant Director – South Australia
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our College Park office.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll come with:
A Social Work qualification recognized by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience of family placement and/or children's services at a senior leadership level.
Direct experience working with children and young people in care or the community.
Proven experience in successfully leading, mentoring, and developing staff.
Understanding of foster care principles, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle and the Charter of Rights for Children and Young People.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and engage with diverse stakeholders.
