ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.
Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track.
The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

This role is a Permanent position on a 8:6 4:3 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane and Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa.
As the Mine Scheduling Engineer , you will be responsible for optimising the medium-term mine schedule, driving operational plan compliance, and supporting timely reporting.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Reviewing and preparing the monthly mine plan Facilitating and leading monthly planning meetings Assessing the schedule's achievability, considering rates and interactions Tracking and reporting on monthly compliance to the mine plan ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Prior experience in a similar role within the mining industry - underground short-term scheduling preferred Deswik Sched and IS (or similar) experience is desirable, however not essential.
Strong prioritisation skills with ability to manage competing tasks Highly organised, structured approach to plan deliverables with a focus on stakeholder engagement Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving ability Qualifications for this position are:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or relevant experience in an associated Engineering discipline South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
