Chevron Australia are seeking a HSE Specialist (Environment) to join their team in Onslow. This will be a 12-month contract residential to Onslow.The HSE Specialist Environment is the focal point for environment at the WHS LNG Facility - Onslow and plays a key role in environmental compliance and driving environmental performance improvement using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.Additionally, the HSE Specialist Environment will:Providing practical environmental guidance to Wheatstone LNG site team (frontline teams, leaders, and Business Partners) with a focus on compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and driving environmental performance improvement using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principlesUndertaking field-based safeguard assurance verification and validation activitiesSupporting site based environmental activities including dangerous goods management, waste and environmental sampling as required, fauna management as well as basic Health and Safety field-based support from time to timeBuilding productive working relationships across HSE, Business Partners and other support teams (e.g., Perth Environment teams, Barrow Island Environmental Specialist, Sea Rangers, Environmental Monitoring Business Partners) to facilitate alignment and execution efficiency of environmental activities, safeguards, and processesFacilitating incident investigations and learning events using Chevron approved Incident investigation methodologies (e.g., 5-Whys, SAFE, Y-tree a Learning Teams) using HOP principlesActing as member of the site Emergency Management Team, including participation in emergency management exercises and emergency response.Build site environmental fluencyPartnering with Operations personal to deliver environmental performanceSpills and leaksWaste managementWater sampling and analysisHazardous materials and DGDrainage and stormwaterPFAS managementAir emissionsLighting managementFauna managementMarine fauna awarenessVegetation and fire managementStrategy to outpaceInterface with Perth Enviro supportAsset priorities – stay focus on Asset needs and requirementsRisk managementTo be considered for this role, applicants should have:Demonstrated practical application of environmental and dangerous goods management in a field environment and understanding of relevant Western Australian HSE legislationPractical understanding of the updated OE management system and Human and Organisational (HOP) concepts, to support environmental management and serious incident prevention effortsDemonstrated ability to influence without authority and build respectful and trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders including site leaders and the broader workforce including frontline personnel and business partnersDemonstrated ability to be a visible HSE professional that adjusts communication styles to provide clear guidance to influence improvements in environmental performance and be a conduit for the workforce to raise barriers and share learning opportunitiesQualifications & Requirements:Qualifications in environmental managementMinimum 5 years of HSE experienceExperience in working in a resource company operating site, in health & safetyExperience working on an oil and gas facility
