Rolleston Open Cut is a 14-16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland.
With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook.
Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility, and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day.
We are a hands-on team who all work together to meet our objectives.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our dynamic and successful team.
As a valued member of the Technical Services team and reporting directly to the Medium/Long Term Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
Developing and maintaining the site's medium term production schedule, including destination and haulage scheduling.
Liaising with key personnel to ensure mine schedules are optimised and can be implemented safely.
Coordinating and working with other departments tying in all aspects of mine planning to ensure timely delivery of critical business objectives.
Coaching and mentoring other Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department to build capabilities within the team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
Experience using Spry, Deswik, and Vulcan software packages is desirable.
Well-developed interpersonal skills as this role deals with all levels of staff and management.
A flexible attitude and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
Proven previous experience in a similar role at a senior level or ready to develop into a leader.
