About the role
As our next Senior Mining Engineer, you will report into the Open Pit team and can be based in any of our Australian or Canadian offices.
You will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions and results.
Job Purpose
To ensure technical delivery of projects, including risk and quality management.
The candidate should have experience in the development of technical communications for key stakeholders throughout various project execution phases (scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility, production, and closure).
The candidate will maintain, build, and further develop industry relationships as part of project delivery and business development.

Skills Required Core functions and Competencies
Sound working knowledge of a broad range of open pit mine engineering practices with expert knowledge in one or more aspects of mine engineering.
Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
Experience conducting mining studies or business improvement initiatives.
Experience defining best practices for active mining operations but sometimes role requires site implementation of practices we recommend.
Good project management skills to manage time, cost and quality.
Actively supports mentoring of more junior engineers.
Software skills in contemporary mine planning packages regarded favourably (e.g.
Deswik CAD, Deswik SCHED, Minemax, Datamine Studio OP & RM, Geovia Whittle).
Qualifications and experience
A degree in mining engineering with more than 5 years' experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.
Consulting experience will be favourably considered but is not essential.
Membership of an industry recognized professional organization.
