Job no: 501795 Work type: Fixed Term, Permanent Location: South Brisbane Categories: Clinical Nursing/Midwifery About the role Mater Mothers' Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse to join the Special Care Nursery within the NCCU.
Permanent positions and temporary maternity leave cover positions are currently available.
The Neonatal Critical Care Unit is a 79 bed highly specialised and complex service which provides care for approximately 2000 babies per year.
It is comprised of 47 intensive care beds, separated into Preterm/Medical and Cardiac/Surgical units, and 32 Special Care beds.
Care is delivered in accordance with best practice standards and in a highly collaborative environment.

Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing As part of our team, you will be integral in the progression of evidence-based models of care which are responsive to community needs and assist by providing leadership to promote an environment that is conducive to innovation and change.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards, you will be responsible for:
Actively contributing towards the Quality, Safety and Work, Health and Safety processes in the clinical area Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision Provide clinical guidance, leadership and education to members of the clinical team in order to ensure consistent and collaborative implementation of improvement activities Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth About you You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic team of passionate nurses.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse with Midwife Registration Minimum 3 years' experience in a Neonatal Care environment Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster Postgraduate neonatal qualification or equivalent Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles Demonstrated a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team Understanding of the Mater mission and values and the ability to engage others in living these values in the NCCU Why join us?
