Technical Lead - Financial Crime Westpac Banking Corporation Sydney, Australia Job DescriptionHow will I help?The Technical Lead will be part of the Global Business Units, Technology Financial Crime team to work closely with the development team and provide high level design input that meet business requirements.
Work closely with the partners and vendors and able to demonstrate knowledge of the technology and systems environment of applications and recognised architectural standards.The role is based in Sydney and would require attending the office twice a week.Responsibilities will include:Support translation of business requirements into IT solution concept and designsSupport development of solution architectures that ensure successful implementation of technology solutionsSupport the production incidents through root cause analysis to identify if the production issues were because of a design defect or requirements gap and provide effective solutionsProvide third-line support for any issues where necessaryProvide input to high level IT & Business Solution Design documentsProvide input and advice to the business for the effective application of technologiesProvide end to end implementation planning supportProvide oversight and validation of proposed complex changes to business services to ensure ongoing stability and sustainabilityDeliver cost estimates for the design and develop phase in partnership with the architect, business analysts, project management, subject matter experts and solution providers for projects to provide accurate and timely cost estimatesAssist the Solution Design Lead in design and developmentContribute to strategic design, development and deployment supporting projects/deliverablesWhat's in it for you?You'll play an important and significant part in the future of a business that has been around for 200 years and be instrumental in achieving our purpose of helping Australians succeed.

You'll also be backed by a fantastic team of people in a can-do, supportive structure.What do I need?To be set up for success in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:Must have a min of 3-5 years of tech lead experience in a similar roleAnalysis and design experience on medium to complex 'enterprise sized' projectsSystems integration experience and Technology industry experience, exposure to the Banking industryDevelopment and deployment experience on more than one platform and exposure to multiple development methodologiesIdeally to have Fin crime Systems (NetReveal, Quantexa, Fenergo etc) knowledge or knowledge in AML/CTF Sanctions domain is desirableMust have experience in systems and data integrationAdvanced knowledge of system analysisExpert knowledge in at least one technical specialism, such as a domain or languageAdvanced analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skillsA firm understanding of a financial services operating environment and core applications and products desirableExperience with batch interfaceDevOps Knowledge is desirableKnowledge of basic unix/linux scripting, PL/SQL, Java, APIs etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsWhat's it like to work there?We aim to provide one big, supportive team to help us achieve our purpose of creating better futures together .
