6-month fixed term positionFull time (76 hours per fortnight)Medical Scientist Grade 1 Year 1 (RX1)Alfred Health locationGreat staff benefitsThe Department The Medical Oncology Unit provides coordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies. An important component of this care are the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients. The Unit conducts phase I, II, and III trials and is a participating member of both National and International Clinical Trials Groups, incorporating both pharmaceutical industry-sponsored and investigator-driven studies across a wide range of tumour types.
The Role The position is a highly valued and key resource for the clinical trial coordinators. The Laboratory Assistant will assist in the processing and management of clinical trial laboratory samples, the input of data into case report forms, and provide administrative support to ensure effective and efficient team operations with Alfred Cancer Trials. In conjunction with team members, the Laboratory Assistant will assist in maintaining appropriate regulatory documents and ensuring regulatory compliance in the conduct of clinical trials. The position also provides an opportunity to coordinate non-interventional clinical studies.
Qualifications and Experience Required Tertiary degree in Medical Laboratory science or biomedical science from an Australian University is the preferred minimum academic qualification.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.Experience working in a laboratory environment.Excellent computer skills and ability to set up and manage new technology with 3rd party vendors.Ability to prioritise workload within established policies, guidelines, and procedures.Flexibility to work collaboratively within a team and independently.Initiative and self-motivation are essential to daily tasks.Demonstrated excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work independently.Ability to complete tasks efficiently and deliver outcomes as required, with accuracy and attention to detail.Staff Benefits Generous salary packaging and novated leasing are available through Maxxia.5 weeks of annual leave.Access to health and wellbeing incentives.Discounted health insurance.For enquiries regarding this position, please contact Micheleine Uhe, Clinical Research Manager - ******.
