Part of IAG, Ambiata is an AI and engineering expert unit which provides Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms, products & solutions as well as supporting software infrastructure to IAG (as our parent company) and in a limited fashion to the market. We focus on ethical automated decision systems leveraging advanced AI/ML/GenAI technology.As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you'll play a key role in the Ambiata AI Engineering team, working within cross-functional squads alongside Data Scientists, Product Owners, Business Owners, and Software and Cloud Engineers. Your focus will be designing, developing, and deploying ethical AI solutions across IAG divisions.You will lead the development and productionisation of AI/ML models, including containerization, deployment, versioning, and monitoring their performance. In addition, you'll develop solutions around Generative AI models, such as Large Language Models, through open-source deployment or API integration. This involves integrating and optimizing generative AI models using advanced Prompt Engineering techniques such as RAG or ReAct, as well as developing specialised LLMs or SLMs through fine-tuning. Outside of active projects, you'll be encouraged to focus on skill development, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge both within and outside the organization.This is a permanent opportunity, and the role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.ABOUT YOUExperience in ML engineering and operations.Expertise in setting up independent end to end LLM-native solutions based on Advanced Prompt Engineering and RAG using open-source components, including Docker, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, data ingestion pipelines, embeddings and vector databases, and prompt engineering.Strong software engineering skills in Python, with a solid understanding of production and operationalisation of AI software products.Proficient in building data pipelines, ML pipelines, and model deployment frameworks using Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, real-time processing, and cloud infrastructure.Experience with public cloud ML model development and pipelines (GCP and/or AWS preferred), along with some DevOps skills for infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.Familiarity with ML toolkits like Keras, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and advanced AI/ML methodologies, including large language models like OpenAI GPTs, Azure OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini.Applications close on Sunday, 8 December 2024 at 23:59pm.Joining IAG you'll have access to:Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard.Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance.A certified Family Inclusive Workplace™.Energy transition opportunities to help us be net zero by 2050.Welcome Back cash bonus when returning from parental leave.About UsWe're part of the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.
