Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel).
The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.
Our head office is based in Broome, and together we are focused on delivering economic and social benefits for the West Kimberley and its communities.

About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent Integrated Planning to join our team in the West Kimberley on a Monday to Thursday site-based roster.
As the Superintendent Integrated Planning, you will lead a team of Mining Engineers, Geologists (including exploration during the season), Surveyors, and GIS professionals.
Your experience in mine design, scheduling, and ore body management will be crucial in providing this leadership and guidance.
Site based roster: 4 days on, 3 days off Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, including Mining Engineers, Geologists, Surveyors, and GIS professionals.
Provide ongoing technical training and mentorship to enhance the team's skillset and expertise.
Oversee, guide and troubleshoot:short to long-term mine design and scheduling, ensuring alignment with project goals.
ore body control, reconciliation and resource geology drone based survey pick-ups, weekly and monthly measurements GIS support to various stakeholders Manage and contribute to budget planning for the development and execution of integrated operations.
Collaborate with various stakeholders (internal and external) to develop robust integrated operations plans and schedules, demonstrating strong communication and presentation skills.
Drive continuous improvement and development of technical processes.
Support and contribute to ad hoc projects where required.
About You Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
Experience in short to long term planning, scheduling and budgeting activities to establish mine development plans.
Experience in ore body management, control and reconciliation, including strong knowledge of resource geology.
Experience in drone-based survey activities and/or the management thereof.
Advanced knowledge of CAD and scheduling software packages (Surpac, Mine Sched, Deswik, QGIS).
Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Suite.
Intermediate proficiency in cost budgeting and management.
Proactive approach to work tasks, with strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritise team tasks according to work requests and operational demand.
Excellent interpersonal skills with people from all levels across the organisation.
Experience in mineral sands, specifically dry mining with Dry Mining Unit (DMU) and Dozer ore mining is desirable.
