Backfill Testing Services - Casual Laboratory Technician Position
Backfill Testing Services (BTS) is a world-leading geotechnical testing laboratory based in Newcastle, NSW.
We are a small professional team who pride ourselves on being industry leaders, providing innovative, precise and reliable solutions to our clients worldwide.
We work closely with civil, structural and mechanical engineering disciplines to offer technical expertise to the mining industry.
An exciting opportunity for a casual laboratory technician has become available within our team.
THE ROLE:
As a Laboratory Technician at Backfill Testing Services (BTS), you will be responsible for performing a diverse range of tasks in accordance with internal BTS procedures and relevant Australian Standards.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Manual handling tasks Detailed soil characterisation Crushing of UCS specimens Maintaining laboratory housekeeping and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for all staff This position primarily operates on day shifts, with limited weekend or overtime requirements.
BTS offers excellent flexibility to accommodate personal commitments, making it a suitable opportunity for individuals who are studying.
As this is an entry-level role, comprehensive training will be provided on-site, with ongoing support from an approachable and encouraging management team.

All laboratory technicians will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.
