Senior Operational Risk Lead

Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)We are supporting one of our Big Banking clients to source a Senior Operational Risk Lead within the Complaints, Remediation and Events area of the bank. You will provide Line 1 Risk support for the Customer Resolution and Remediation Portfolio. In this role, you will deliver expert analysis, guidance, and risk management advice, overseeing the control environment and risk assessments for key business initiatives.You will lead a team focused on complex assurance activities, including operational risk assessments, control governance, and risk insights. Promoting a strong risk culture, you will drive improvements in risk awareness and capability across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading and managing the Assurance Team, setting objectives, and allocating responsibilitiesSupporting the Business in reviewing risk profiles and control environmentsFacilitating Risk Management Forums and preparing specialist contentProviding risk advisory support to enable informed decision-makingSupporting the development and implementation of effective controls to manage key risksIdentifying opportunities to simplify and automate the control environmentConducting regulatory control attestations and supporting internal audit reviewsManaging risk data quality and coordinating data for NFR Hub reportingSupporting change risk assessments and the management of risks related to change implementationDriving team culture and employee experience initiativesWhat You'll BringStrong knowledge of Operational Risk Management processes and frameworksAnalytical skills to assess risk and control data, identifying trends and solutionsExperience leading high-performing teams in changing environmentsDeep understanding of risk and compliance regulations and frameworksExcellent relationship management skills with key stakeholders and enablersExperience designing and managing business controlsA desire to embed risk management in day-to-day operationsAbility to challenge the status quo and drive innovationKnowledge of RG271, RG277 and RG78 would be highly regardedBanking and finance industry knowledge, coupled with risk management or internal audit experienceWhy Join Us?From the moment you join, you'll be contributing to meaningful work that makes a difference to communities.
