$75k-$90k + super, for a suitable candidateCovent Garden, a renowned fully GF restaurant & one of Australia's most awarded gin bars, is currently on the hunt for a highly passionate Head Chef to take over our kitchen team in the new year, after we've waved farewell to our long-time Head Chef towards the end of 2024.About the roleAs the Head Chef at Covent Garden, you will be responsible for leading and managing a small, yet talented team of chefs to deliver an exceptional culinary experience for our guests. This is a full-time position based in West End (QLD, 4101).What you'll be doingOverseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring consistently high-quality food is producedCreating and developing innovative menu items that showcase your exceptional culinary skillsCollaborating with the management team to optimise kitchen efficiency and control costsMentoring and training the kitchen brigade to uphold the highest standards of food preparation and presentationEnsuring the kitchen complies with all relevant health, safety and hygiene regulationsImplementing robust inventory management systems to minimise waste and maximise profitabilityWhat we're looking forSignificant experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environmentA proven track record of leading and developing a talented kitchen teamExceptional culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious, innovative dishesAbility to always stay level-headed & not being easily frazzled by day-to-day challenges of running a kitchenStrong commercial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and control costsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with front-of-house staff and customersThorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulationsWhat we offerAt Covent Garden, we are committed to supporting our employees' personal and professional development.
