About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Energy Market Operations Specialist to join our team, where you'll lead middle-office activities to manage the commercial operation of Epic's assets in the gas and electricity markets.
In this role, you will be required to develop an understanding of Epic's existing assets and commercial contracts, as well as the development projects in progress requiring new market participation functions.
The role will involve extensive interaction and coordination of key stakeholders, including the Business Development, Commercial and Finance teams, and the Control Room and Asset Management teams.
The role will also be required to liaise with external stakeholders such as AEMO and the AER.
What we're looking for:Expert Knowledge: Strong knowledge of energy market trading, dispatch, and financial settlement processes.Qualifications: Relevant degree or equivalent experience in technical, commercial, or financial fields.Experience: Background in one or more of the following:Power generation operations (e.g., project management, trading, or corporate activities).Regulatory compliance across asset lifecycles (e.g., AEMO liaison, generator licences).Commercial management of energy infrastructure (e.g., gas transport or power purchase agreements).Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM), including wholesale market operations, regulatory frameworks, and key stakeholders.Operational Insight: Working knowledge of market-facing control room environments and supporting commercial operations.Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.Analytical Ability: Proven experience in data analysis to support strategic decisions and deliver actionable insights.Business Improvement: Understand and/or experience in implementing business improvement programs.What we have to offer:While energy infrastructure is our business, it's our focus on people and relationships that sets us apart.
