Scientific / Technical Officer (Simulation learning)Who are we looking for? We are seeking a Scientific / Technical Officer (Simulation learning) to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Health.
The Scientific/Technical Officer (simulation learning) role requires discipline specific knowledge, in paramedicine or nursing, to engage with and provide high quality technical support to academics and students.
The incumbent will maintain awareness of current and emerging support requirements and will contribute to the continual improvement of technical services supporting the Faculty's Learning and Teaching and Research programs.
The Scientific/Technical Officer will be required to work in collaboration with other technical staff to provide an integrated and highly responsive support service which ensures that students have the benefit of a high-quality learning experience.

Technical services is a highly professional team providing specialist technical expertise to support teaching and research across all schools within the Faculty.
The team are responsible for the effective, safe and sustainable operation of a range of teaching and research facilities and specialist equipment across both campuses.
What you need to succeed Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor degree in related field; an Associate Diploma level qualification with at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, or training.Demonstrated ability to embrace and participate in change and to effectively organise and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and competing priorities, without compromising quality or compliance obligations in a busy technical environment.Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively connect and collaborate with colleagues, work in teams and foster positive team culture.Demonstrated understanding of theoretical aspects and experience in the practical application of relevant paramedicine/nursing skills, as well as the use of specialised equipment (e.g.
high and low fidelity clinical simulation equipment) associated with these techniques, where relevant.Well-developed problem solving skills including the ability to contribute to continuous improvement, and apply sound reasoning and judgement in the resolution of work issues.Demonstrated ability to accurately review and interpret instructions of a conceptual nature; to relate relevant knowledge to provide maintenance and repairs to equipment, and to produce technical reports, communications and documentation to a high standard.Demonstrated high-level digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant equipment specific software or the ability to quickly acquire these skills.Life at QUT We're committed to building a culture that fosters connection between people and purpose.
