We are a local business success story that has been packaging and supplying milk products to supermarkets, cafes, and other retailers for many years.
Our products are naturally produced, locally sourced, bottled cold, and delivered fresh.
Care for the land, cows, and farmers is at the heart of the business, and Maleny Dairies is proud to support, purchase, and process milk from local dairy farmers.
Maleny Dairies has won the Sunshine Coast Business Awards for the Food and Agriculture category in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
The Opportunity Based in the rolling green hills of Maleny QLD, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the General Manager – Supply, Distribution, and Procurement.
This newly created role will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of our supply chain process, from raw milk supply, ingredients, and packaging to contract negotiations, procurement, and warehouse and distribution operations.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Executive team, this role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of 11 staff across three departments.Oversee the entire supply chain process, including raw milk supply forecasting, ingredients and packaging, procurement, and warehouse and distribution operations.Develop and execute strategies for supplier negotiations, long-term supply arrangements, and vendor relationship management.Use data and analytics to optimise operational metrics and drive continuous improvement.Manage third-party logistics contracts and tanker operations, including analysing and developing tanker runs and driver rosters.Champion health and safety practices.Collaborate with the CEO, Executive team, and other key internal stakeholders to define future supply chain forecasts and farmer milk volumes.Required Skills and Experience: Extensive Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role with relevant qualifications.Expert Communicator and Negotiator: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the business.Inspirational People Leadership: A leader who can create a culture of employee engagement, trust, and high performance.Deep Functional Expertise: Proven experience in managing a large-scale manufacturing/operations environment.
Experience in the FMCG or dairy goods production industry will be highly regarded.Strategic Capability: Ability to assist the CEO in defining and executing supply chain forecasts, particularly in relation to farmer milk volumes incorporating risk analysis and contingency plans.Analytical Focus: Strong capability to optimise operational metrics through data-driven decision-making.Commercial Acumen: Expertise in managing relationships with key vendors and negotiating long-term supply arrangements.Logistics and Operational Management: Ability to analyse and develop efficient company-owned milk tanker runs and associated driver rosters; experience in third-party logistics management transporting finished goods.Health & Safety Expertise: Proven track record in promoting and ensuring workplace health and safety as a top priority.Working Hours: Monday to Friday 38 hours per week with some occasional weekend work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
